Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan brings the love story of Skyler and Dimitri to vivid life in this breathtaking, seductive entry in her dark Carpathian series.

He is Carpathian. Ancient and unassailable. She is human. Young and vulnerable. Without her, he will not survive. Caught between two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free and humans safe. He has survived honorably when others have chosen to give up their souls. Now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri finds himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation is coming...

No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she has something no one else does. She is predestined for Dimitri—as he is for her. And there is nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk.

Christine Feehan’s books are an absolute ART and this one is one of my favorites! Although, the scene with the flower threw me off and was a little cringy for me. But all in all, absolutely beautifully written!!

Another “MUST READ “ by this author. She can blend the scary action- packed supernatural with the tenderness heartfelt love story like really very very few writers. She combines “edge of your seat” get ready for the next unexpected twist- along with this sense of camaraderie and deep connectedness that actually reflects how important trust, and faith in our fellow man really is. I easily rate this a(5) STAR BOOK- and look forward to more of this author’s work, for sure. JB-68!

I think its time to end the series, this book was such a let down for me. I've read all the books and it seems like they getting sillier and sillier. Not worth the money :(

What a let down I got this as soon as it was available have been waiting for this story. What a Huge disappointment . We did not get a lot of the story, it ended with no resolution . Skyler got over her sexual abuse with no problems because she just said I am over it. The live between Dem. and Sky. Is a beautiful thing , it is just the sexual scenes were not not like Ms. Feehan usually writes, the backstory was missing. What I got from the book: there is a war coming , the Capa. Are evolving , Skyler is amazing, she can do anything including die and come back, Dem. is gentle, and can withstand anything, the book dragged, I usually read and re-read the books because I can not wait but not this one. I must say Zax, Zac,dark lycan and this book are not in any way her best
  • Long time coming but WORTH THE WAIT!!!

I have been reading the Dark Series for the better part of 12 years now. This latest endeavor was such a long time in coming but absolutely worth waiting for. The first Dark book I ever read was Gabriel and Francesca's story and the beginning of Skyler's too. It has been a long time since I have felt the visceral, gut-wrenching emotions while reading the last few of Christine Feehan's efforts like I did while reading this gem. This book did not disappoint in the slightest. All the characters that were brought back together from most of the books was like a homecoming for me; and being exposed to a few Carpathians whom I have never been introduced was quite refreshing. The direction this series is going is one I will continue to support. Thank you Ms. Feehan!

I discovered Christine Feehan at a late date but once read the first book I was hooked. I have spent my time catching up on all her books and can't wait for the next installment in the carpathian series! However I am disappointed that Apple did not have the correct release date. I rely on Apple for my release dates and to find out its one day off from the official website is very displeasing. Have no fear I will be writing a review about iBook.
